Longines, Main Partner and Official Timekeeper of FEI, has been the protagonist of the fourteenth leg of the Longines Global Champions Tour circuit in the impressive Stadio dei Marmi arena in Rome from 21 to 24 September. The Italian leg of the prestigious 5-star circuit reserved for the best riders at the top of the Longines FEI Ranking List worldwide, has seen two highlights in the four days of competizions: the Global Champions League competition of teams, and the individual Longines Global Champions Tour Grand Prix of Rome.
Longines, Main Partner e Cronometrista Ufficiale di FEI, è stata protagonista della quattordicesima tappa del circuito di salto ostacoli internazionale Longines Global Champions Tour, nell’imponente Stadio dei Marmi di Roma dal 21 al 24 Settembre scorso. La tappa italiana del prestigioso circuito a 5 stelle riservato ai migliori cavalieri in cima alla Longines FEI Ranking List mondiale, ha visto andare in scena due appuntamenti clou nei quattro giorni di gara: la Global Champions League competizione a squadre, ed il Longines Global Champions Tour Grand Prix of Rome individuale.
The Global Champions League in two rounds high 1.55/1.60 (first round individual qualifying for access to the Longines Global Champions Tour Grand Prix) was won by the Hamburg Diamonds, whose formation has deployed Canadian rider Eric Lamaze on Chacco Kid and Dutch Harrie Smoldes on Don VHP Z, with a total of 8 penalties before the Miami Glory team (total 9 penalties: Denis Lynch on RMF Bella Baloubet and RMF Echo, Cian O ‘Connor on Skyhorse, and Scott Brash on Hello Forever) and Dutch Valkenswaard United (Marcus Ehning on Comme il Faut and Alberto Zorzi on Fair Light van Y Heike). This result strengthened the Hamburg Diamonds leaderships at the top of the overall standings when only the Final of Doha from next 9 to 11 November is missing.

La Global Champions League competizione mista a due manches altezza 1.55/1.60 (prima manche qualificante individualmente per l’accesso al Longines Global Champions Tour Gran Prix) è stata vinta dagli Hamburg Diamonds, la cui formazione ha schierato in campo il cavaliere canadese Eric Lamaze su Chacco Kid e l’olandese Harrie Smoldes su Don VHP Z, che con un totale di 8 penalità ha preceduto la squadra statunitense Miami Glory (tot 9 penalità: Denis Lynch su RMF Bella Baloubet e RMF Echo; Cian O’ Connor su Skyhorse; e Scott Brash su Hello Forever) e quella olandese Valkenswaard United (Marcus Ehning su Comme il Faut e Alberto Zorzi su Fair Light van Y Heike). Questo risultato ha rafforzato la leaderships degli Hamburg Diamonds in testa alla classifica generale quando manca solo la tappa Finale di Doha dal 9 all’11 novembre prossimo.

The Longines Global Champions Tour Grand Prix of Rome high 1.60, was the clou event of the entire weekend who seen started 24 riders and triumph over all the big, the Swedes twenty-four-year-old Evelina Tovek, student of Olympic Champion Henrik Von Eckermann who was at her first Grand Prix CSI5 *! On Castle 194 she made a double clear round and closed the barrage with the time of 50”71, leaving behind the 2017 continental silver medal Harrie Smolders on Don VHP Z (0/0, 52 “43) and the 2000 Olympic gold medalist Marcus Ehning on Funky Fred (0/4). With 4 penalties in the base round our italian Lorenzo De Luca signed the seventh position on Halifax van het Kluizebos.

Il Longines Global Champions Tour Grand Prix of Rome altezza 1.60, appuntamento più atteso dell’intero week end, ha visto partire 24 binomi e trionfare su tutti i Big l’amazzone svedese ventiquattrenne Evelina Tovek, allieva del cavaliere olimpico Henrik Von Eckermann, al suo primo Gran Premio CSI5* ! In sella a Castello 194 ha realizzato un doppio netto e chiuso al barrage nel tempo di 50”71, lasciando dietro di sé la medaglia d’argento continentale 2017 Harrie Smolders su Don VHP Z (0/0, 52”43) e la medaglia d’oro olimpica a squadre 2000 Marcus Ehning su Funky Fred (0/4). Con 4 penalità nel percorso base il nostro azzurro Lorenzo De Luca ha siglato la settima posizione su Halifax van het Kluizebos. After the leg of Rome, in the individual ranking summing up the achievements of all the legs of the entire Longines Global Champions Tour 2017 circuit, it can already be declared the victory of Dutch rider Harrie Smolders, which with 278 points can not be exceeded even if his “neighbors” would win the Grand Prix of Doha, the last leg, where insted the second and third positions of the podium will be identified. Interestingly, since Lorenzo De Luca is currently second (260) and Alberto Zorzi fourth (255), behind German Christian Ahlmann (257). Dopo la tappa di Roma, nella classifica individuale sommando i risultati conseguiti in tutte le tappe dell’intero circuito Longines Global Champions Tour 2017, si può già dichiarare la vittoria del cavaliere olandese Harrie Smolders, che con 278 punti non può essere più superato neanche se i suoi “vicini di vertice” si aggiudicassero il Gran Premio di Doha, ultima tappa, dove invece verranno identificati il secondo ed il terzo gradino del podio. Questione interessante, dal momento che Lorenzo De Luca è attualmente secondo (260) e Alberto Zorzi quarto (255), dietro al tedesco Christian Ahlmann (257). Occhi aperti allora per l’ultimo e decisivo appuntamento del Longines Global Champions Tour per quest’anno dal prossimo 9 all’11 novembre, la Finale di Doha in Qatar!
