Longines has had the great pleasure to welcome for the first time at its headquarters in Saint-Imier in Switzerland, its Ambassador of Elegance Kate Winslet. The extraordinary Oscar-winning actress, who has joined the Longines family in 2010, visited the Longines Museum and chose a model that will be the subject of a new edition to the profit of the Golden Hat Foundation, a charitable organization founded in 2010 of which Kate is co-founder, that promotes awareness about autism.
For six years the British actress of great talent perfectly illustrates the motto of Longines “Elegance is an attitude“. Today the maison is proud to welcome her in Saint-Imier, into the place that saw the birth of the brand in 1832. The Longines President Walter von Känel accompanied the actress in this day to the discovery of the exciting process of creation of the Longines watches and illustrates her the stages of production and assembly of the cronographs. The Ambassador of Elegance has visibly enjoyed the tour of the Longines Museum, an oasis of sophistication that tells one of the finest Swiss watchmaking stories and witness the brand’s legacy who is rooted in tradition, elegance and in performance. In this journey through the ages, Kate has been particularly affected by a timepiece of the Flagship collection that gave her a thrill. A collection which next year celebrates its 60th anniversary. Longines so decided as well, to revive this model during the year and donate the proceeds to the Golden Hat Foundation.

Longines ha avuto l’immenso piacere di accogliere per la prima volta presso la sua casa madre di Saint-Imier in Svizzera, la sua Ambasciatrice dell’Eleganza Kate Winslet. La straordinaria attrice premio Oscar, che è entrata a far parte della famiglia Longines nel 2010, ha visitato il Museo Longines e ha scelto un esemplare che sarà oggetto di una riedizione a profitto della Golden Hat Foundation, un ente di beneficienza nato nel 2010 di cui Kate è cofondatrice, che promuove la sensibilizzazione sul tema dell’autismo.

L’Ambasciatrice dell’Eleganza ha visibilmente gradito la visita del Museo Longines, un’oasi di raffinatezza che racconta una delle più belle storie dell’orologeria svizzera e testimonia l’eredità del marchio che affonda le proprie radici nella tradizione, nell’eleganza e nelle prestazioni. In questo viaggio attraverso i secoli, Kate è stata particolarmente colpita da un segnatempo della collezione Flagship che le ha procurato una grande emozione. Una collezione che l’anno prossimo festeggia i suoi 60 anni. La maison ha deciso, così, di riproporre questo esemplare nel corso dell’anno e di destinare il ricavato delle vendite alla Golden Hat Foundation.
Longines, che vanta una lunga tradizione di sostegno alle cause di beneficienza, è felice di annoverare tra i propri Ambasciatori dell’Eleganza una donna come Kate Winslet, eleganza anche nel cuore attraverso il suo impegnano al fianco di chi soffre. Valori in linea con quelli di Longines, e da qui la decisione del brand di dare il proprio sostegno alla Golden Hat Foundation che mette in luce le capacità e l’immenso potenziale delle persone affette da autismo. Al termine della giornata dopo aver incantato tutti con il suo spirito, Kate ha voluto incontrare i collaboratori di Longines riuniti per l’occasione ed ha approfittato di questo momento per rivolgere alcune parole all’assemblea:
È stato un piacere scoprire l’attaccamento di Longines alla sua storia, la cui ricchezza è fonte d’ispirazione per creare nuovi esemplari fedeli ai suoi valori. Sono molto riconoscente al marchio per il suo sostegno alla Golden Hat Foundation, un ente che mi sta molto a cuore, attraverso la riedizione dell’orologio che ho scelto oggi. Sono molto fiera di poter contribuire a sensibilizzare le persone in merito alla situazione delle persone autistiche. Ritengo che queste persone debbano poter imparare a comunicare, ricevere una formazione scolastica e sviluppare vere e proprie relazioni sociali.
