Longines at jumping verona 2021

Longines returns protagonist in Verona from 4th to 7th November at the 123°edition of Fieracavalli, for the most important international showjumping indoor circuit in Italy: the Longines FEI Jumping World Cup ™ of which the Swiss watch brand, thanks to the agreement signed with the FEI (International Equestrian Federation), is Title Partner, Timekeeper and Official Watch.

An unprecedented edition, symbol of the restart of the entire sector, which has seen the best riders and horses in the world, on the top of the Longines World Ranking List, attending the third leg of the Longines FEI Jumping World Cup Western European League.

Three consecutives days of full CSIW5* classes, which the clou event was: the Grand Prix 1.60h with jump-off and 190.000 Euro prize of the Longines FEI World Cup.

Thanks to Longines I had the opportunity to walk the Grand Prix course plan designed by Italian Chef de Piste Uliano Vezzani, explained by Mr. Markus Fuchs Olympic rider and uncle of international showjumper Martin Fuchs, the winner of the previous leg in Lyon the precedent week.

There were 39 starters at the first manche, and just 12 entered to the decisive barrage.
The victory went again to the pair, French rider Simon Delestre on Hermes Ryan (Hugo Gesmeray x Ryon d’Anzex) 0/0 37″,32. In fact they already won here six years ago in 2015!
Second place went to German rider Kendra Claricia Brinkop on Kastelle Memo (Thunder van de Zuutheove x Cicero Z) 0/0 37″,80. Thir place for Irish rider Denis Lynch on GC Chopin’s Bushi (Contendro II x Nairobi) 0/0 38″,62. Here the complete ranking.

Simon Delestre was awarded by Longines Italy Brand Manager, Mr. Matteo Sovera.

The Official Watch of the event was the steel model of the new The Longines Master Collection, a symbolic tribute from the moon to the Maison’s female clientele. This timepiece contains within the 34 mm diameter case an automatic movement developed exclusively for Longines: the L899 caliber. At 6 o’clock it features a moon phase indicator surrounded by a date ring with Arabic numerals and hand indication. The femininity of this example is emphasized by the white mother-of-pearl dial embellished with diamond indexes and the elegant steel bracelet.
